Time keeps on slippin slippin slippin...

Hmmm.... I had wanted to update at least once a week and I see I have already fallen behind... Ah well... ! I'm still in the planning stage for a lot of projects so there's not really a whole lot to report but here goes:

I've decided on the size and general design of the kitchen island we are going to build. I taped off with pink masking tape the location of it in the kitchen just to practice walking around it and generally just pretending what it would be like as an extra prep space. It will measure 96" x 30" and be about 36" high.  Four stools will tuck underneath along the right side (as pictured) and there will be two shelves running the entire length but only 15" deep on the other side. Does that make sense?  Probably not haha.

Still deciding on paint colors for the dining room.  Blue Lagoon is on the bottom and Valspar's Mercer blue is on the top.  It's hard to tell from this photo... but mercer blue is a beautiful greyed out blue.  I'll try to get a better photo of it!

In other news... I put a cheapo clock up in the living room so that we can know at a glance what time it is in the morning.  It doesn't really help though because apparently Beaner and BooBoo, even though they are 11 and in the 6th grade, have never learned how to tell time on a face clock.  It has to be digital.  They will spend more time walking into the kitchen to look at the microwave or go searching for a cell phone before they take an extra 30 seconds to figure out the time on this baby.

Silly girls.  I hope they get used to the ticking of a face clock because I just love clocks.  The more unique the better!    Like this beauty I found the other day at modcloth.com:

I'm still trying to figure out linking and blogging and such so I couldn't figure out how to get the picture of the clock from their website (to purchase clock go here) so I posted the pic from my pinterest board. I'm sure it's wrong and totally not "kosher" in terms of copyright and blah blah blah so this will have to suffice until someone educates me on how to to it.

Anywhoozle... the little sliding clock is just so adorable.  I have to have it haha. It's only about 6"x5" but it would look so cute sliding off of a mantle or something.  Possibly even a DIY'd faux mantle since we sadly have no fireplace... and you know I've got one planned out... it's just a matter of finding the time (and funds) to make it a reality!!
