Total blogging slacker, I am...

So... a lot has happened in the last month and a half.  I did a few projects... worked a lot of hours... had a couple of sick kiddos... had my beloved Mac die...

Yes, my friends.  Monsieur Mac, my precious iMac has gone to the great beyond.  I may have shed a tear or two when I realized he was likely not going to come back.  He was my first ever major purchase and I bought him my last semester of college in January 2007(after the laptop my momma bought me CRASHED during FINALS WEEK.  Nothing like seeing the blue screen of death at 1am...).  He was 6 years old, and I've known for about 2 years that we were probably on borrowed time with him.  In fact, we didn't really even use him much since we have iphones and ipads.  I had started using him again for blogging because he was easier to type on than the iPad (currently I'm on the PC at the office. sssshhh... let's pretend it's my lunch break, k?), so that is part of the reason why there was a lack of posting going on.

Another reason for the lack of posting is due to my lack of sleep.  Karl and I are training for a half marathon in June and I'm trying to get back into the regular training schedule again.  Last spring, I ran after work and before I picked up the kiddos from daycare.  It was amazing.  This year, I try to not have the kids in day care as little as possible to save money and thus I need to run in the morning.  Ugh.... Getting up at 5am is a little difficult sometimes.  Especially when all of a sudden you have a 2 year old that refuses to sleep in her own room, and has stopped sleeping through the night.  I thought I had a routine down with the kids that got them into bed and asleep by 8:30 or 9:00 so that I could hit the hay early as well but then frickin daylight savings time happened and we're STILL trying to adjust.  Seriously, why can't we just move the clock back a half hour and then forget about it until the end of time?  Sort of like a Spring/Fall daylight savings compromise.

Oh and I should probably mention that this winter has me seriously depressed.  Last time this year, it was like 70 degrees.  Now... we've got like 3 feet of snow and below zero temps with wind chill.  It's like the winter that will never end, and I've got a serious case of cabin fever.  I mean, we bought this house in January so we have no idea what our yard looks like (or even if we have one lol)!!!

Anyway... now that my grumpiness has been laid out on the table and is out of the way this is what I've been up to:

  • Painted the upstairs bathroom
  • Painted the dining room
  • Started to sand Squishy's bed, in the hopes of refinishing it
  • Painted the living room, up the stairs and the upstairs hallway.
  • Started building Beaner's bed
The bathroom and dining room are completely done (well... I think I could touch up a couple of spots in the dining room... but I'm sure I'm the only person that notices). The living room I did not finish.  I didn't feel like moving the bookshelves so that wall is still white and the nearby corner by the window is still white as well.  I also need to finish around the TV.  When the TV is the only reason that your kids are not climbing in the paint bucket you kind of don't want to move it and break the hypnotic effect.  I was sooooooo sick of painting by this point I seriously never wanted to see a paint brush ever again.  In fact, I just wrapped the roller up in a plastic bag and it's actually still in the plastic and it's been about 3 weeks now.  Ooops.  I'm sure I'll have to throw that roller away.  The next weekend I started working on Beaner's bed (and I had to stop because Lowe's didn't have enough straight 1x4s.  Otherwise Beaner and I had picked up all of the wood that we needed to build hers and Boo's beds).

I took 2 weekends off of having projects on my to do list in order to just kind of chill and spend some time with my family but I need to get back at it.  I'm sick of having my mattress and box spring on the floor but I don't feel right working on my own bed when two of my babies sleeping on the floor (well technically... all of them are sleeping on the friggin floor.  The two youngest by choice because they are weirdos and the two oldest just have their mattresses (no boxspring) on the floor).  After I get Beaner and BooBoo's beds done I'm sure they'll want their room painted right away so it'll probably be the month after never that I get to work on my own bed.

Whelp... I'm going to end this rambly, pictureless post now.  I just spent about an hour trying to figure out (again) how to easily take photos off of my iphone and have them readily accessible by Blogger but... I don't want to have to jump through 50 hoops in order to do so, so I need to do some asking around and hanging out with my ole pal Google.

Til next time....!
