Cleared to run..!!

This morning I had a doc appt to get my feet looked at.  Plantar fasciitis in the left foot (duh) and no stress fracture in the right foot.  Just tendonitis.  I get to take prednisone for 5 days (something about being a mega dose anti inflammatory??) and then I get physical therapy for my IT band issues.  So... it was a success.

Guess how I celebrated?

Do you know how ungodly hard it is to take a full body selfie?  How does Katie do it?  Anyway... I wore my Brooks again.  (I still have my timing chip on the left foot from my last race.  too lazy to undo the laces to take it off).  An easy 5 miles was on the schedule.  I tried to do easy... but it came out medium-hard... I think.  I believe my pace was 10:08 avg.  It was in the upper 60s for temp but it was really sunny out so I struggled just a wee bit with this one.  Plus my foot hurt.

When I was training for my first half marathon, you know... like a mere month into my running career, my foot hurt like this.  First one... then the other.  Last time it was more over my cuboid bone instead of being smack dab in the middle of my arch but it was the same kinda feeling... the same pain intensity.  All of a sudden it just kind of went away (well maybe the pain decreased over a couple days).  It only lasted 2 weeks?  Maybe 3 at the absolute most?  I can't remember.  So... I'm hoping that if I can just power through the pain... I'll be fine.  As long as I can run without limping, I'll be on the trail.  It's just that I can feel it with every. step. I. take.

Actually it kinda makes the run go by faster, if you can believe that.

In other news... my neck/shoulder is still sore.  Not the bone on bone grinding pain it was before the chiropractor yesterday but a very very sore muscle pain.  Even the muscle that brought me to tears when I popped a rib out a few months ago is a little sore tonight (I told ya... I'm always hurting somewhere).  I kinda feel like I got hit by a truck or something.

Yesterday was a glorious day.  I got my new Erin Condren life planner!!  This is my third one.  I spent this afternoon putting in my training schedule until the Monster Dash in October.  And then I busted out the calculator and figured out my weekly mile totals.  My highest mileage week will be the week before the half and will be 45 miles (!!!!!!).  In total, to prepare for this half, I am scheduled to run a total of 444 miles.  I'm excited.  No really... I am!

[I need to get Callie and Taylor to give me some pointers on how to take good selfies apparently....]
